Apple Sells Two Million iPads in Less Than 60 Days

31 May :
Apple has  announced that after releasing the iPad in nine countries that it has sold more than two million units in under 60 days. iPad will be available in nine more countries in July and additional countries later this year.

The iPad originally went on sale on April 3, 2010 and then became available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK this last weekend.

“Customers around the world are experiencing the magic of iPad, and seem to be loving it as much as we do,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We appreciate their patience, and are working hard to build enough iPads for everyone.”

AMAZING - greatest sale of an electronic gadget ever recorded in history. At an average selling price of US$500,  in just 2 months Apple had raked in sales of US$1 billion. I have been using the  iPAD ( a 3G-WiFi 64gb Australian unit ) a week already and I am still puzzling and figuring why is this such a hot item ?

The iPad will be available by end July in Singapore. Most probably by September only it will be in Malaysia stores.

I do not find any  "magic experience " as expounded by Steve Jobs. Later this week I will post my personal review of it .
